Outdoor dining and drinking was always a staple of the Philly summer scene—now more so than ever! With ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, many local establishments, including lots near your Chestnut Square apartment, have moved their operations al fresco, so you can still enjoy the award-winning cuisine and cocktails local spots are known for, and get a little (safe!) socializing done at the same time. With so many outdoor dining options, it can be hard to narrow down all the choices. So why not go with one of the newest in the area?
Spring Arts Beer Garden opened this summer as the newest entrant to the local outdoor beer garden scene, and it’s made quite a splash. The concept is the union of four separate local breweries—Love City Brewing, Triple Bottom Brewing, Roy Pitz Barrell House and Yards Brewing Co.—who came together in the wake of the pandemic to share resources, support and rally the neighborhood. Located in a formerly vacant lot, just a half-mile from your The Hamilton apartment, the venture offers the best of the best of each of the four locales, so you can get four separate experiences all in one trip!
Triple Bottom’s beer menu features some adventurous finds like “Wooder Ice,” a bluberry sour shandy, and “Front Stoop,” a citrus IPA, while you can find pineapple-infused IPAs and a kettle-soured blood orange beer in the lineup at Love City Brewing. Roy Pitz’s selection is great for those with a sweet tooth, as it includes a strawberry beer and a vanilla-orange selection, while Yards is serving up some of its signature drinks, like Pynk, Brawler and the Summer Crush. All four offer beers on tap and canned, as well as wines and cocktails.
And don’t forget the food! The venue has a number of selections available for delivery, including deep dish pizza, pretzels and wings.
Summer in Philly this year is going to look a bit different, but with all the exciting outdoor dining options near your The Hamilton apartment, you can still make it a memorable one!
