Where to Watch the Phillies When Baseball Returns

We may be in a bit of a delay right now, but baseball season will eventually be back before we know it! If you’ve gotten used to hunkering down at home, a trip to Citizens Bank Park to cheer on the Phillies may seem like too big of a chore—with crowds, high prices and equally high temps. If you want to take in a game without all that fanfare, stick a bit closer to home with a trip to one of the many sports bars near your The Hamilton apartment.

One of the most popular Fairmount sports bars is the Green Room, which has been a favorite watering hole of the neighborhood for more than 85 years. Located just a half-mile from your The Hamilton apartment, the building offers plenty of historic charm, including lots of Philly sports memorabilia, including championship photos, jerseys and street signs named after all the local teams—including Phillies Avenue.

The bar is stocked with lots of high-def TVs so you’ll feel like you’re right in the stands even though you’re a few miles away. And while you watch the Phils go head to head in their matchup, you can challenge your crew to a game of pool on one of the two billiards tables. Or, kick back at the bar or tables and dig into the food and drink menus. Burgers, sandwiches, wings and more are all popular Phillies snacks, as are more than a dozen craft beers, many of which are locally brewed. And, if it’s an afternoon game, you can really score with happy hour from 4-6 p.m. with different specials every day of the week—including free games of pool, specials on wings and pints, and trivia tournaments.

So, when the Phils return, put on your jersey and play hooky at Green Room for a game to remember!
