Where to Celebrate St. Paddy’s in Philly

and after!), Center City Philadelphia becomes a sea of green as partiers don their shamrocks and raise a glass (or a few) to the holiday. With nearly every bar going green for the occasion, it can be hard to find an authentic spot to celebrate St. Patty’s—but luckily your The Hamilton apartment is right near a longtime Irish staple.

Con Murphy’s Irish Pub was started by a pair of Irishmen who now call Philly home. They named the establishment after another late Irish friend, all of whom shared an appreciation for the comfort and quality that is found in traditional Irish pubs. Good food, good drinks and good company are all at the heart of Con Murphy’s mission. And as a plus, it’s just six blocks from your The Hamilton apartment so you don’t have to worry about the surge pricing on Ubers this holiday.

On the food side, Con Murphy’s serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night selections—so no matter what time you want to start your St. Patty’s Day celebrations, you can do it here. There are plenty of Irish favorites on the menu—like potato bacon soup, fish and chips and shepherd’s pie—as well as all of the American pub grub you’d expect. The drink menus also feature a healthy mix—with the staple Guinness at the top of the draft list—including a good selection of beers from local breweries. There are two bars, with the lower level great for smaller groups and the upper floor more fitting for big parties—so no matter what type of group you are with on St. Patty’s, you can find a setting that works for you.

So break out the beads and get ready to celebrate St. Patty’s in Philly!
